2010 NFL Draft Day Two Analysis for the Kansas City Chiefs

This is my 2010 NFL Draft Day Two Analysis for the Kansas City Chiefs. Click this link to see my analysis for the first round pick of Tennessee Safety Eric Berry by the Kansas City Chiefs. Coming into the 2010 NFL draft I felt the Kansas City Chiefs needed offensive linemen and defensive Authentic Marqise Lee Jersey backs. I feel that winning football games starts on the offensive and defensive lines but that the Chiefs needed a cornerback or two.

With the 36th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Kansas City Chiefs drafted Dexter McCluster the running back from Ole Miss. I am pretty pleased with the addition of McCluster because of his game breaking speed and return ability. Dexter McCluster will probably be used as a part time running back and also slot wide receiver.

By selecting Dexter McCluster the Chiefs are improving their big play ability on offense and in the return game as well. The big drawback to Dexter McCluster is his small stature. According to this ESPN article, McCluster is only www.officialauthenticjaguars.com/authentic-marqise-lee-jersey.html 5 8 and weighs 165 pounds. This is too small for a feature back in the NFL but as a part time player with certain packages in the playbook, McCluster is a good pick here.

My 2010 NFL draft day two analysis of the Kansas City Chiefs shows even more enthusiasm for their second pick in round two. With the 50th pick in the 2010 NFL draft the Chiefs picked cornerback Javier Arenas from Alabama.

I love the Chiefs pick of Javier Arenas because he is a cornerback who can also return kicks if needed. Arenas is small at 5 9 and 197 pounds but he is a playmaker. I like Javier Arenas for his football speed and smarts. The fact that he played for the National Champion at Alabama does not hurt him in the least. Playing for Alabama put him in some big games so he has experience. Javier Arenas added with Eric Berry gives the Chiefs a definite upgrade in their defensive secondary. Keep in mind the Chiefs play the San Diego Chargers and Phillip Rivers twice a year.

Jon Asamoah the guard from Illinois was taken by the www.officialauthenticjaguars.com/authentic-blake-bortles-jersey.html Chiefs with the 68th pick of the 2010 NFL draft. Jon Asamoah gives the Chiefs the offensive lineman I wanted them to pick but he plays guard rather than tackle.

Asamoah does help the Chiefs give all those nice skill players some room to run. With the addition of Dexter McCluster via the draft and Thomas Jones in free agency, Asamoah will be needed. I like his versatility because he can play either guard spot. In today's NFL versatility is the key to a long career on the offensive line. Players who can play multiple positions are in high demand.

All in all I am happy with the 2010 NFL draft, day two selections by the Kansas City Chiefs.
